NOX — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 August 2026

NOX does not collect your personal data. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server that stores anything about you.

What you enter, and where it stays

During setup NOX asks for a birth date, how many years the clock should run, the hours you are awake, and how often you want to be interrupted. All of it is written to storage on your own device and is never transmitted anywhere. We never see it.

The countdown on the main screen is calculated on your device from those values. It is a dial you set and can change at any time. It is not a prediction, an estimate, or any kind of assessment of your health or lifespan.

Reminders

Reminders are scheduled locally. NOX hands your device's operating system a batch of pre-dated notifications, and the operating system delivers them at the appointed times, even when the app is closed. No push server is involved and no message about you leaves your phone.

The one network request NOX makes

NOX checks for content and code updates from Expo's update service at u.expo.dev, so that corrections to the writing can reach you without a new store release. That request identifies only the platform (iOS or Android) and the app version it needs. As with any request to any website, Expo's servers can see the IP address it came from. See Expo's privacy policy.

What NOX does not do

Deleting your data

Uninstalling NOX removes everything it stored. There is nothing held elsewhere for us to delete, and no request you need to send us.

Children

NOX is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of NOX adds anything that handles data differently — for example paid subscriptions, which are processed by the app stores — this page will be updated before that version ships, and the date above will change.
